Teen Games 08

Promisedland took part in its first ever Teen Games on the 11th and 13th Mar 08. The soccer boys took part in the 5 a side soccer tournament held at Farrer Park. The boys played 5 games, with a record of 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 lost. It was indeed a good peformance by the boys judging by their lack of experience.

We stood a chance of going far in the compeition having secured a place in the quarter finals. However, bad weather forced the organisers to award the winning trophy to the team with the highest point in the group tables; but we still thank God for His blessings on us in having a great time!

TERRY!!! *screams* fans go wild... Our captain fantastic, Player of the tournament! Scored 4 goals for Promisedland.

We also thank God for blessing us with a great party organised by the basketball boys on the 13th. Now, its time for the basketball boys to play well in their teen games challenge!

The youth basketball team played a friendly match against the boys from Max Tuition today. The game was lost, but the purpose of the game is to allow our boys to have some match experience. From this defeat, they will be able to understand more about the game and improve better. Some boys did pretty well, but felt that they did not have the composure when under pressure. Also, the opponents were so much taller, stop playing the high balls!!!

Jon Cheok and Looi both played well. Justin surprised the "fans" who went. He perfomed much better than expected. June, who was there and wanted to box everyone even said that she was impressed by Justin. Keep it up Justin, you will improve more..

"From this day on i will bless you." Haggai 2:19. We all know that it is a diifcult time for Promisedland now, but we do know that God is still here with us. He has never left us, these years Gen J we saw with our own eyes how God lead us and bless us. From just the few of us, we have around 20 right now and many more are coming in. Just stay true to God, keep your heart straight and pure, worship Him daily and He will bless us more and more.

God sees all that you guys have done for Him.

Giving up your Saturdays for Him, worship practices, sports club. All the hard work in CP, moving rice in the rain, Lek Howe felling down the stairs. Staying late to do up for CP, Angelia and Junjie. Pei en and Joyce for all the hardwork in playing for God every Sunday service. The younger ones for now putting in their strengths, moving the rations, the super duper heavy canned foods. Justin, Cheok and Manfred as the mascots on the hot Sunday mornings. And many many things that everybody has done

You guys did all these without any complains. You are the best. We have our differences and some disagreements these years, but because of His love, we always accomdate each other.

We live together, play together and work together, lets keep this unity and more will come.
